December 27 Congratulations to Karen Hoggard on the safe arrival of her Smooth Collie litter born December 23rd - this litter has the potential of being dual sired and is subject to DNA proofing. One potential father is our lovely Oliver.
December 9 - Happy news, on the 7th of December a long awaited litter arrived mother and babies doing well details and photos will be added later today (hopefully) also on the 7th a litter was confirmed by ultrasound in the first week of January. Hopefully things are starting to look up :)

October 26 - This month should of been spelt RAIN if it hasn't been that it has been DRIZZLE, our fingers are crossed that during the month of December we may have some babies, just a bit to early to be sure at the moment - but as they say watch this space!
Karolyn has been and had her hip and elbows xrayed and we are pleased to say that she is 0/1 for her hips and 0/0 for elbows, hopefully babies from our lovely red head during the mid part of 2021.
On the International front Bonds babies are looking lovely with youngest born in the Cambiano kennel in Italy, it is exciting watching these lovely babies growing up and starting to take shape.
On the stud dog front - the decision has been made that Oliver is available via AI (artificial insemination) only, performed at Monash Vet clinic, this procedure with give you a semen analysis at time of insemination.
I have updated the links list, sadly a couple more websites have fallen of the radar and more than a couple are very outdated ( I have kept them on for the historical context they give) if you know of one or would like yours added, please just email me a request and the link.
September 29 - The first month of Spring is nearly over, September is usually Royal month and from here on we would normally be looking forward to getting out and about to the many country agricultural shows that are so synonymous with Spring in Victoria. Sadly this year that is not to be.
Luckily we are starting to experience better weather, Christmas is on the horizon and maybe the patter of puppy feet. So stay strong, stay the course and hopefully news will start to improve.

The above Tri babies are recent children of our Ross - born in the Izkaze kennels of Kaye Reeves, they all have homes and are by now settling in well we hope, we wish Kaye all the best with the babies that she kept and hopefully we will see them in the ring in the near future.
August 24, How is everyone going? Not much happening here just a lot of rain! To everyone that has enquired regarding puppies, at the moment we are not expecting anything, we are hoping and waiting (patiently!) for a couple of the girls to come into season however with lockdowns and closed borders changes may need to be made as to who prospective fathers may be.
The photos above are of Chippy from our March litter by Oliver and Butterfly, he is growing in to a handsome boy, if the rain ever dries up I will have to get some photos of his sister Bambi.
June 25, News from Slovenia - Bond has been hip scored A just like his sister and dad here in Australia :) now to have his mum done.

April 27
While we understand many people are wanting a Collie puppy, we do not keep a stash of them in a cupboard or down the garden. Each litter at Carluke is very much wanted and planned with the object of US keeping something ourselves and we will not make available any puppies until our choice is made. Sometimes this may happen quickly - other times it takes as long as it takes.
A puppy is for life, not a season, not for puppyhood and not for a pandemic.
We do prefer emails in the first instance, although we have dogs, we also have a farm to run and of farm jobs to attend. So emails give us the luxury of answering in the quite times ie. 2am in the morning! Phone calls may be answered but they are time sensitive.

March 10 - The Labour day long weekend took on a different look this year. Saga only requires single figures for her title now.

So 2019 that's a wrap!
So much has passed in the last 12 months, from the lowest confidence destroying lows to the headiest of highs, we like many others around the country have been there.
We have lost during the year 2 very special girls who helped us back from the brink when they were born in 2005, Fancy and Bette were our rather tenous link to our foundation line. That line gained another generation during 2019 with the arrival of Meme's litter and the addition of Karolyn our keeper puppy. Another oldie to pass was the Smooth Collie Rosie, so grateful to Chez and Gez for the care/love they afforded her during her life and for allowing us the opportunity to have her back for a litter without which we would never have Freya or her brother Angus, sadly their blue brother Romy has passed as well. Also lost during the year was the Nova son Newman loved and cared for by Gloria Kees. Our thoughts and love are with all those that have lost someone special during the year.
Another link was lost in South Australia with the all to sudden passing of Freya's youngest son Quentin his loss is keenly felt by us here at Carluke and of course by his SA family of Denise, Tania and Kimberly Adams.
We have also had failed litters/pregnancies that leave us wondering if there is any reason to continue - so who knows if or when there will be another litter on the ground.
As if this was not enough we lost a gorgeous Chesnut Arabian filly Scarlet to a shocking paddock accident shortly after turning 12 months.

As they say onto every sorrow a little sun must fall and life is for the living, so what of those heady heights!
Mum and I spent a lovely 5 weeks abroad - taking in British Collie club, Crufts, a CACIB show in Belgium as well as visiting friends Dora, Brian, Odile, Rene, Val and John, Mojca, Mark, Henriette, Jette, Tomas and Kristian as well as many others. We visited Austria, Slovenia, Netherland, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark and the UK, some places only briefly but we certainly packed in several thousands of kilometres. We saw the Spanish stallions in Vienna, drank champangne at Veuve and Tattinger and wandered through many historic homes. We shared many of these experiences with old and new friends - Janice, Jackie, David, Raewyn and Christie.
During this time we are grateful that Allison was very ably assisted by Corina with backup from Teeny and Samantha for caring for ALL the animals and the property during a stressful time.
